Caught up on sleep and feel much better for it. Today we met up with Andreas family for a lunch which i was dreading as i didnt want to offend if i didnt like, especially as we were expecting a fish course, however, it was all so good and I was very gratefully for their hospitality and it got better when they took us out for ice creams after. Finished reading Boulles Planet of the Apes and cant help but compare the book with my experiences although without the monkeys. The meeting of two different cultures and how the occupants react, whether they should be welcoming or hostile, fortunately I have found the former much more of the case. I feel my Portuguese is coming on especially after a drink or two (dutch courage), I am determined to get better and hope to be able to hold conversation in Portuguese by the end of my visit. I have met so many new people its great how our house brings together people from all backgrounds, its a real ecclectic mix of people which i think which gives the place it unique character. We are going to the university tommorrow and im looking forward to getting stuck in and live like a Portuguese student.
